In Honor of Zeus

The picture of Jupiter seen here is in the very early stages of becoming an 8K texture map for a 3D model. It is the most challenging artistic planet texture I have ever created to date. I am building it from scratch, like a traditional artist, without the use of texture patterns, AI, etc. This is not because I am opposed to using faster methods to accomplish the job. This is about showing someone above and below my skill set that I know what I am doing. Cheap construction methods are easily noticed by those with a trained eye. I intend to make a time-lapse video of this Jupiter texture map, to demonstrate my authentic artistic process for YouTube.

I think AI creation is a fantastic tool when used correctly and in the right artistic hands. For example, after I have created my texture map of Jupiter, I intend to animate it using an AI program before rendering it in Unreal 5. To animate Jupiter’s absurdly intricate wind patterns by hand would take an unreasonable amount of time for even the best artists with the best computer in a studio setting.
